Pamela Davis-Noland

Author/Poet

Pamela Davis-Noland is an author, playwright, and poet, basically an all around well-defined artist. Pamela is a Lake Charles, Louisiana native and now resides in the industrial city of Houston, Texas. She comes from a large Catholic family, where she is the youngest of nine children. Pamela’s adventures of writing started while in Lake Charles, Louisiana and have no boundaries as to how far they will travel to be read, seen, and heard. Pamela realized that she had a gift with words at the tender age of eight or nine years old. Pamela decided that her writing career would start as she wrote her autobiography at the age of thirteen. Pamela was awarded a publication contract from St. Martin’s Press located in New York City. She was so proud of her achievement that she celebrated by having a release party. Shortly after, she was contacted by the Publishing Company and told that the agreement had been cancelled. Many would have been torn down by this situation, not Pamela Davis-Noland. Pamela refused to accept "no" for an answer. She stayed determined and in good spirits. She decided to make her own dreams come true by publishing her self. Her determination and enjoyment to write has surpassed every drive in her life. In order to make her soul enjoyment of writing possible she has chose to work several part-time jobs on her incline to success. Pamela loves to write and explore diverse styles of writing such as fiction, poetry, and motivational speeches. Her portfolio has expanded to now include the artistry of theater pieces as well. She is a self-proclaimed free spirit that has many opinions to share, stories to tell, and is simply gifted with words. Pamela enjoys sharing her work with others. She has made many appearances to share her work such as book signings at local bookstores in Houston, speaking on radio talk shows and at different conventions that take place in the city of Houston.

About the Book:

Set in New Orleans, Coffee-Colored Dreams is the story of Celia DuBois's frustration with love and her disgust with light-skin/dark-skin racism among blacks. She's had it with baby-mama drama and has no interest in a thug's passion. In fact, she feels she'll never find the right guy. But Celia's bleak outlook changes when Jeffery Jackson strolls into the Big Easy from Chicago and enters her life. Jeffery's challenge is to convince a woman scorned that he is completely unlike the rest, and that he and Celia are soul mates.

I was very fortunate to meet Mrs. Noland and I must say that her book was outstanding! It made me feel like there are other people in this world who go through the same issues. Celia's dream came true. She found her Prince Charming in the form of Jeffrey. I am anxiously awaiting a sequel. I have to know what happens to Benny and especially if Laura will come back into the picture. This book was just REAL. Pick it up. You won't be disappointed.

Sensual book...wonderful imagery, May 11, 2005
This was an excellent read. I found myself skipping pages just to see what happens next. I read the book in 2 days and re-read it a week later; in hopes that I missed pages on the first go round! I am passing the book around to my friends and co-workers and they love it. If you're into romance and the sultry south, this book is for you!

This is a must read, September 8, 2005
This book is amazing. It is so true of life and how if you truely believe in your dreams and follow your goals, good things will prevail. Ms. Noland is great at bringing you into to the characters, and making them feel as though you truely know them. I want to find out how married life is treating the jackson's, and how Benny is doing. This is an easy, must read.

The characters in this book pull you in from the beginning, they are believable and feel like people I know. I was so impressed with this story. My favorite character of course is Benny, how can you resist the charm and sincerity set against a steamy New Orleans back drop. This book makes beautiful music, a definite MUST READ!

I'm not much into romance novels at all but this one was actually a good page turner. Each page made me more ready for the next. Kudos to the author! And I loved the New Orleans flavor.

"When I first received her book and met up with her for her interview she gave me a big hug and she then signed her book, “May all your Dreams Come True.” Pamela said she signs all her books this way because her dreams came true and that everything and anything is possible."
"No matter what it is you do, do it with pride and joy and don’t let any body steal that joy or tell you that you are not good enough. Keep you head to the stars and push on to that greater good that is within us all."

I absolutely loved Pamela’s' novel. I was fortunate to meet her one night after my father died at a local 24-hour restaurant. In spite of my bereaving, I managed to smile and speak to her in passing. She came over to me and offered me a bill talking about her book. That same night I got home, I went on line, purchased the book, and I am so glad that I read it. It’s an absolutely splendid read, and I know that there is a reason as to why I met Pamela when I did..............speaking of divine intervention...

I really enjoyed reading "Coffee-Colored Dreams"! It is VERY good!...an absolutely delightful gem! You have your unique style. It’s real...it's honest and provides authentic characters everyone can relate to. The main characters, Celia and Jeffrey, having texture and depth, speaking in the first person...bridge the narratives so that they create moving pictures of themselves and the love story so that we are never lost. I especially liked the healthy attitudes around being true to oneself...goals & purpose in life. Congratulations on your debut novel. I know we are going to hear more from you. Wishing you continued success! You go girl
